Workshop Day 2!
All of us (except Caitlin at the beginning) were familiar with Margaret DeLilo by now. We jumped right into what we were doing after Margaret showed us how to shape newspaper into shapes so they are ready for paper mache-ing.
I had some designs in mind, although I wasn't sure how they would work out with paper mache, but I came up with a new idea just as Margaret was finishing her explanation. I went with that idea: a ball with weapons and such sticking out of it representing the Deadly Sin of Wrath.
After talking to Margaret, I realized I didn't really have an exact meaning to my piece. I'm toying around with what I want it to specifically symbolize....maybe a stress ball and the weapons represent how the person (or people) take out their anger by violence...? I'll think more about it later.
I created the ball during the workshop today, but I still need to cover the cardboard I cut out (for the weapons) with newspaper. I'm looking forward to next workshop...finally we start to paper mache!
